QuizUp Privacy

This Privacy Policy describes how QuizUp (the "Company", "we", "us", "our") collects, uses, stores, and discloses information about users of our application.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

Personal Information

When you create an account, we ask for your email address. If you sign in with Google or GitHub, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from that provider. You choose your username and display name.

When you take a quiz created with Quiz Maker, the quiz owner may ask for your email address before you start. The quiz owner can see that email address together with your answers and score.

Usage Information

We collect information about your use of the application, such as the quizzes you create, your interaction with quizzes, your trivia duels (answers, response times, and scores), and your performance data. If you play as a guest, this information is stored with an anonymous account.

Public Information

Your username, display name, avatar, levels, and scores may appear on leaderboards, duel results, and your public profile.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and maintain the application
• Personalize your experience
• Communicate with you about updates, promotions, and marketing

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not share or sell your personal information with third-party organizations for their marketing or promotional uses without your consent. However, we use Stripe for processing payments and they require your email address to facilitate transactions.

We also rely on the service providers listed in the next section to run the application. They process your information on our behalf.

4. Storage and Security

Your information is stored securely in a database hosted by Convex, on Amazon Web Services infrastructure in the United States. The application runs on servers in Germany operated by netcup, and web traffic passes through Cloudflare. Files you upload are stored on Cloudflare R2. We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information.

Your email address is stored on Lumail to send you account emails, such as sign-in codes, and, if you agreed to receive them, product updates and marketing emails. When you use AI features in Quiz Maker, the relevant quiz content and answers are sent to Google's Gemini API to draft questions or grade responses. We do not share your email address with any partners, except Stripe for payment processing and the service providers above that process it on our behalf.

We use cookies that are necessary to keep you signed in, including when you play as a guest.

5. Your Choices

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time with the link included in each email. To access, correct, or delete your personal information, contact us at contact@quizup.app.

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
